Spawn Shops

Serious discussion about major changes to Kreatious happens here!

Spawn Shops

by SDOR3 » Sun Sep 23, 2018 9:16 pm

Alright, some of you may be aware of this already because max and I have discussed it on the server but since Webtrade is down and we don't exactly have an ETA on when it will return we've gone ahead and made some shops at spawn. There are 8 in total. The rules and regulations will be listed below.

Rules

-Follow the rules of the rent contract otherwise you will be evicted
-You can customize the inside of your shop however you wish, but please do not modify the glass or walls
-You may share a shop with another player, but you must work out how to split the rent
-Do not: mess with spawn or try to obtain permissions, build under your shops, make secret passageways or pvp vantage points, build another shop near by filled with player traps, that's absolutely massive, causes insane amounts of fps lag, and has paths and tunnels under spawn
-Only one spawn shop per person, while you may share a spawn shop you have to actually use the spawn shop you're renting meaning you can't just rent the shop and then not use it but rent it out to others but never use it yourself...
-Modifying, griefing, or changing another player's shop is NOT allowed, and will likely result in an immediate eviction
-If we believe you are in violation of these rules we will inform you, but if you don't comply you will be evicted
-The above being said, you are not entitled to a warning before we evict you
-Evictions are rare. They won't happen unless you explicitly violate the rules or do something that you really shouldn't. Use common sense.
disclaimer: these rules are subject to change without notice, we reserve the right to evict players at our own discretion regardless if they are in violation of the terms above or not

Rent Contract

-Rent will be 1 diamond block per month and 1 iron block per sign
-There will be an initial 'Empty Shop fee' of 1 diamond block. However, in order to allow everyone a chance at a shop you will have to bid for it (see below).

Bidding (if more than one person wants a shop)

Regarding the 'Empty Shop Fee', this means that whenever there is an open shop (because someone didn't pay rent, decided they don't want a shop, got evicted etc) a fee will be required in order to rent that space. We will require 1 diamond block up front. Because there are only 8 shops, the bidding system will build off of this; you will sign up for a shop below. If more than one person signs up for that specific shop you can either move to a shop not taken or bid over the shop space. The format and a very detailed map is below

Map of shops (claimed ones listed as claimed)

    Shop 8 ....................Shop 4...Taken..._______________________
    Shop 6b(((7)))....Taken....Shop 3..Taken...|...............................|
    Shop 6a......Taken........Shop 2..Taken...| Kreatious Union Station..|
    Shop 5....Taken............Shop 1..Taken...|______________________|
    ================================
    v v v v Spawn pool is this way v v v v

Format
In game name:
Rank:
What shop do you want?: (Unclaimed shop here so, 2, 6, 7, 8)
Bidding price: (this will always start at 1)
Do you understand and agree to follow the rules listed above?: (answering no or leaving this blank will result in your application to be ignored)

Since all of the shops have been filled, the bidding process will only be used if more than one individual wants a shop. If a shop becomes open in spawn and you wish to rent it, reply to this thread with the application. If no one responds in a day from your post it's yours. If someone responds within a day to your post then you'll need to bid with them for who gets the shop. This will last until for a week or until a conclusion is reached, either post on the forums or sort things out in game with the other individual. At the moment there is no waiting list. Shops are on a first come first serve basis. This may change if more people start playing however.

The bidding process will work like this: Players reply to this thread with the format above. (Be sure to read through the replies often and check for updates) and then either update their bid accordingly by editing their post or sort it out in game. At the end of a week, or once a conclusion is reached whoever has the higher bid will get the shop.

Example of the bidding process:

Spoiler:
In game name: Sdor
Rank: Mod
What shop do you want?: Shop 1
Bidding price: 1
Do you understand and agree to follow the rules listed above?: Yes

In game name: Icefang
Rank: Mod
What shop do you want?: Shop 1
Bidding price: 2
Do you understand and agree to follow the rules listed above?: Yes

In game name: maxmmm
Rank: Mod
What shop do you want?: Shop 1
Bidding price: 3
Do you understand and agree to follow the rules listed above?: Yes

As you can see, max Icefang, and I are all bidding for shop 1 but max has outbid both of us. I would then go and edit my post and increase my bid amount to be higher than max's if I do indeed want shop 1. Max and Icefang could come back and do the same so long as there is time remaining. (You may change which shop you want at any time however the same process applies above. The shop will go to the highest bidder after 1 week)

You don't need to do this all through the forums however, as stated multiple times above. You may sort it out in game with the other player if you wish. Example:

Player 1: Hey I want this shop
Player 2: Hey me too
Player 1: I'm willing to pay 3 diamond blocks
Player 2: I'm willing to pay 4
*discussion ensues*
Player 1: Ok well, I'm not willing to pay that much. It's yours

Player 1 (the player who did NOT win the bid) will then /mail max or I that Player 2 has won the bidding. This is to prevent an individual from saying they've won the shop when they really haven't.

That is all. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

FAQ
Spoiler:
Q: Can I have a tl;dr of the process from start to finish? This post is too long
A: Assuming there is a free shop and no one else has applied for it, you would follow these steps:

    1) Post a response to this thread with the application above. Start your bidding at 1 diamond block.

    2) Wait a day and see if someone responds to your post. If someone responds, proceed to step 3. If not, go to step 4

    3) Bid with them using the process above, or sort it out in game. You have a week to come to a conclusion. The highest bidder wins (obviously)

    4) Show either max or I your post and ask for permission to your shop, or show us proof that you've sorted it out with the other person. That way we know you aren't just saying you've won

Q: HELP SOMEONE ALREADY APPLIED FOR THE SHOP I WANT WHAT DO I DO????
A: Assuming it is within 1 day of their post, reply with an application and a higher bid. You then have a week to reach a conclusion. Wait for them to respond on the forums, or sort it out in game with them. Refer to the steps above.

Q: What is a trade sign? How do I use them?
A: follow this thread: viewtopic.php?f=32&t=2636

Q: WHY CAN'T I PUT [insert item here] ON A TRADE SIGN????? THIS SERVER IS BROKEN
A: You can't trade enchanted books because they're not added to the list of items able to be traded. You'll need to make a machine to dispense them.

Few comments...

The archaic [trade] sign format:
Spoiler:
[trade]
<# item in> *This is how much your item costs*
<ANY TEXT> *This line can be any text or blank*
<# item out> *This line is the item you're selling*

EXAMPLES:
[trade]
64 iron ingot
for
1 diamond

[trade]
1 diamond block
DONATION
0 dragon egg

[trade]
20 diamond
for
1 beacon

[trade]
1 bucket
for
1 lava bucket

[trade]
3 wither skull
for
1 beacon

-1.7.2 items and newer are not in the [trade] signage code so will not work. (it its not on /lookup then it likely wont work) Unsure of the version? This can help.. https://minecraftitemids.com/versions
So incompatible items include but not limited to elytra, shulkers, end cities materials, banners, fireworks, enchanted books, etc

-If for some reason the name does not fit on the sign, numerical item IDs work too. (cake: 354, tnt: 46, etc)

-/lookup <name> can be used to look up names usable on trade signs
example: You wanna sell carpet? /lookup carpet shows all the carpet names with the colours

-To sell enchanted tools you just put <# material tool> or "1 diamond pick" (this would require providing a sign telling what the picks in the chest is enchanted with.)**
+Ideally this could be used as a sort of tool mystery box. ie. Pay a diamond, get a random tool if you don't say what is in the chest.

-EVERY individual chest will require its own [private] sign. [trade] signs do not seem to work with daisy chain locking (this is where you can lock multiple adjacent chests with one sign)**

-[trade] signs are also incompatible with trapped chests.

**Regarding payment.... Is the IB per [trade] sign. or literally EVERY sign?
So every trade sign would effectively cost minimum 2 IB per month(one for private sign, one for private sign).
10 trades would be minimum 20 IB (10 private signs, 10 trade signs) +signs detailing enchantments
15 trades would be minimum 30 IB (15 private signs, 15 trade signs) +signs detailing enchantments
and so on... (I think most players know math lol)
^.^

Some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

They need a private sign on the chest to be created, but it can be removed afterwards.

Yes, every sign. But as I said above that does not mean two per trade
