1945, May 8th, Germany surrenders.
Aug 6th, America asks Japan if they like mushrooms. Sends one to Hiroshima.
Aug 9th, Japan didn't answer, so America sends another one to Nagasaki.
Aug 15th - Japan surrenders. Russia is sad; they wanted to send gifts to Japan too.

June 11th - the first monkey astronaut, Albert I, is launched into space from White Sands, New Mexico.
Oct 10th - R-1 missile on test becomes the first Soviet launch to enter space.
